...like the ones we held on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico for several years and at La Canada (pictured here). The latter, tucked away as if in a secreted glade one a family ranch in the remote village of Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, Mexico, is a place where writers devoted themselves to their storytelling craft, share local foods and meals and can even learn to horse back ride and have a belly dance lesson (thanks to the writer and artist Miriam Garcia, whose family owns the ranch) .
Here, below a few participants share some impressions about their experiences along with impressions of writing off grid, entirely away from the madding crowds.
